In 1863 President Abraham Lincoln, looking for ways to unite the nation during the Civil War, declared the last Thursday of November as a national day of Thanksgiving. A special exhibit at the visitor center will explore how Thanksgiving was celebrated in the midst of the Civil War. 8:30am-5pm
