Juror Karey Bresenhan, founder of Quilts, Inc. and the International Quilt Festival and Market in Houston, TX has chosen 32 quilts from around the country in both the traditional and art quilt categories to be showcased in The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center's September exhibit. Opening ceremony, September 5, 3 - 5 pm. Hours: Mon - Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 1-4pm.

SOUTH MOUNTAIN: PIVOTAL BATTLE OF THE MARYLAND CAMPAIGN

Description:

Dr. Tom Clemens, Professor of History at Hagerstown Community College, will present a program on the Civil War Battle of South Mountain, which played a critical part in the Maryland Campaign of 1862. The program will examine three major fights of the battle, stressing why they occurred, what happened, and how the results shaped future events. Free and open to the public.
