Frederick Distances Map

Few destinations are more centrally located to America’s mid-Atlantic attractions than Frederick County. We are just a few hours from New York, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh, and minutes from Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, Harpers Ferry, WV, Gettysburg, PA, and Sharpsburg, MD. By Rail: Maryland Rail Commuter (MARC) connects Frederick to Baltimore and Washington. From AMTRAK’s Baltimore and Washington stations, MARC rail will transport you to our three stations in Brunswick, The City of Frederick, or Point of Rocks..

By Air: Reagan National, Dulles, and Baltimore/Washington International Airports are less than an hour's drive away. The Frederick Municipal Airport also serves general aviation.

By Road: Major highways that access the county are I-70, I-270, US 15, US 40, US 40A, and US 340. Frederick County's highway network makes the county easily accessible by automobile and motor coach. Greyhound Bus has a terminal in downtown Frederick.

From New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore
Route I-70 West from Baltimore-Annapolis to Frederick. Take Exit 54 (MD Rt. 355 - Market Street). Make a left on Market Street. Go through 3-4 lights, stay in right lane. Visitor Information signs will direct you to turn right onto Church Street. One-half block on the left, just past the parking deck, is the Visitor Center, 19 E. Church Street.

From Pittsburgh and Western Maryland
Route I-70 East from Hagerstown-Cumberland-Oakland to Frederick. Take Exit 54 (MD Rt. 355 - Market Street). Make a left on Market Street. Go through 3-4 lights, stay in right lane. Visitor Information signs will direct you to turn right onto Church Street. One-half block on the left, just past the parking deck, is the Visitor Center, 19 E. Church Street.

From Washington, DC and points south
Route I-270 North from Washington, D.C. to Frederick. Take Exit 31A (MD Rt. 85 - Buckeystown Pike). Make a left on to Rt. 355. Go through 4-5 lights, stay in right lane. Visitor Information signs will direct you to turn right onto Church Street. One-half block on the left, just past the parking deck, is the Visitor Center, 19 E. Church Street. on the left.

From Central Pennsylvania
Route 15 South from Pennsylvania to Frederick. Take Rosemont Avenue Exit. At end of exit make a right onto Rosemont Ave. Follow for 1 miles and turn right onto Bentz Street, stay in left lane on Bentz, go 3 blocks and make a left onto Church Street. Go 3-1/2 blocks and on the left, just past the parking deck, is the Visitor Center, 19 E. Church Street.

From Southwestern Virginia, and Leesburg
Route 15 North/340 East from Virginia to Frederick. As you enter Frederick City continue straight through to South Street and make a right onto South Street. Follow South Street, staying in the left lane, through 2nd light, and make a left onto Market Street. Stay in the right lane on Market Street. Visitor Information signs will direct you to turn right onto Church Street. One-half block on the left, just past the parking deck, is the Visitor Center, 19 E. Church Street.
