Presidential Playground: Beyond Camp David — The American President In Frederick County, Maryland

Frederick County is home to Camp David, the Presidential Retreat so we've seen our share of the nation's decision makers. On this brand new tour, you'll hear stories about the first families who've enjoyed our area. Abe Lincoln gave a speech, Grant visited the Fair, Mrs. Eisenhower and Mrs. Clinton shopped and of course, George Washington slept here. Your group will hear about these "executive encounters" on a guided tour of Frederick, then see the home of John Hanson, first President under the Articles of Confederation. You'll also tour the home of Supreme Court Justice, Roger B. Taney who inaugurated seven American Presidents from VanBuren to Lincoln. The highlight of the tour is a visit to the Camp David exhibit at the Cozy Restaurant.

Saints and Sinners Tour

Here's a tour full of heavenly fun and a devilishly good time. Your group will tour the home of the first American-born saint, Elizabeth Ann Seton as well as the Grotto of Lourdes, then be treated to stories of moonshine, revenuers and "fast house" tucked away in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains. The highlight of the tour comes when notorious "sinner", Jesse James, holds up your group's train ride. Complete with faux jewels and funny money, the train ride is sure to leave your group in stitches.
