Arrive in Frederick for a weekend of relaxation, fun and shopping! Day One

Let the pampering begin with a visit to a salon and spa!  At the New York/New York Salon and Day Spa or the Milano Salon and Spa you can indulge in a massage or a facial, have your nails and hair done too.  Both offer a full menu of options for your choosing.

Next, visit Smooch! Studio, where you can browse their full line of makeup and skincare products.  Get some great make-up tips and be kind to your skin during your visit.

Enjoy an intimate lunch in one of Frederick’s fine dining locations, such as Acacia, which serves an exciting fusion of exotic specialties in a California setting. For the perfect dessert after lunch, visit Zoë’s Chocolate Co. or The Perfect Truffle.  Both offer exquisite handmade chocolates for your sweet tooth.

For your last stop of the day, don’t forget to visit The Muse. Located in the heart of downtown Frederick, The Muse creates an ever changing environment to introduce visitors to various works by local artists.  They have a fine selection of jewelry, baby gifts and handmade paper products. You won’t find unique treasures like this anywhere else!

This evening, enjoy dinner at Alexanders in Buckeystown.  Dine on comfort food while you take in the charming ambiance of a beautifully restored Federal-style manor, originally built in 1780. It is a cozy, casual atmosphere and a great place to enjoy a meal with friends.

Following dinner, take a walk on the dark side with a candlelight ghost tour of Frederick!  Embark on  a leisurely walk through downtown Frederick and hear about some of Frederick’s most famous residents who may still be lingering around our historic city.

Day Two

Antiques, Shab Row Shopping and the Frederick Wine Trail

This morning, explore some of the antique shops in downtown Frederick and the surrounding area.  Emporium Antiques offers wares from over 100 dealers, including vintage furnishings, home embellishments and unique antiques. All of these fine things are showcased in a 55,000 square foot warehouse built in 1912.

Another interesting shop to browse is Great Stuff by Paul.  With two locations in Frederick, Paul stuffs his stores with items from all over the world including, pottery, glass and baskets.

Everedy Square & Shab Row is a cluster of shops in downtown Frederick , where you can find everything from handmade items by local artists to local wine.  Accents at Shab Row offers shabby chic, cottage and classic style items to compliment any home.  Stop in and browse their wonderful selection of purses, candles and accessories!

There is also a selection of dining options in this area, including Shab Row Bistro and Wine Bar. This local neighborhood eatery serves French-inspired fine dining cuisine. Their cocktail menu serves up inventive signature drinks made from fresh ingredients.

To end the weekend, make a couple of stops along the Frederick Wine Trail. Visit nearby Mt. Airy, where you can enjoy sweeping views of the vineyards while tasting some of Maryland’s most superb local wine. Black Ankle Vineyards boasts a unique Tasting Room built from materials that came right from their own farm and is designed to be extremely eco-friendly. Elk Run Vineyards sits on historic land and is comprised of two vineyards with 25 acres of vine. During your tasting, you can also sample local bread and cheese. At their vineyard shop, you can browse for mementos or take home a bottle or two to remember your girlfriends get away to Frederick!
