Established in Frederick in 2009, DanceWorks' owner Lee Ann Wolff has been dancing and teaching since 1993. Wedding choreography is a specialty. Date Night on Fridays helps couples decompress after a stressful week. Focus is on American style Waltz, Rumba, Foxtrot, Swing, Tango, and ChaCha. No previous dance experience required. Free lesson and chocolate fountain included in price of admission, which is just $15/person. Saturday Night Dance Parties include light refreshments and also a dance lesson, as well as expanding beyond the core dances on Fridays to include Samba, Quickstep, Salsa, Viennese Waltz, Carolina Shag, Bolero and Hustle. Housed in the renovated Mountain City Mill building, the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center is a non-profit arts education facility, featuring art instruction, exhibitions and special programs. The center is a 30,000 square foot flagship of the arts. Artwork by regional artists is for sale in the gift gallery. Items include ceramic, paintings, prints, jewelry, woodworking and much more. Prices range from $3 to $300. All art is created by Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center members.
The Frederick Arts Council's mission is to serve as the primary catalyst and advocate for arts opportunities in the county. The Cultural Arts Center is a 14,000 square foot community arts center that houses a black box theater, art gallery, and event hall.
